Bypass This PC can’t run Windows 11

If your computer or virtual computer is missing a TPM or SecureBoot, or you just don't want them to be used, Windows 11 will fail to start the install process with this message:

This PC can’t run Windows 11
This PC doesn’t meet the minimum system requirements to install this version of Windows. For more information, visit https://aka.ms/WindowsSysReq.

Fear not! This checks and more can be outright disabled and windows will still work just fine (for now!).

On the "This PC can't run Windows 11" screen there is a "back" arrow button in the top right corner of the window. Hit this and you will return to the previous step where you choose which OS to install, at which point you can press Shift-F10 to load a command prompt. You can do this before trying to install too.

Run regedit, and head to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup and add the key LabConfig. Now add DWORD(32) = 1 for these values:

  • BypassCPUCheck
  • BypassRAMCheck
  • BypassSecureBootCheck
  • BypassStorageCheck
  • BypassTPMCheck

You can now install Windows 11 without any of these checks.
