Bracketed Paste
Possibly the most annoying "feature" that could be added to a linux console window is for it to detect newlines and not treat them like the enter key. It can be temporarily disabled, but will undoubtedly re-enable itself after a while.
To disable temporarily, it can be turned off with a control code:
printf "\e[?2004l"
However to turn it off permanently, it must be added to the system's /etc/inputrc file. Despite it being defaulted to "Off", it is enabled on newer systems.
