Linux Mint MATE screensavers
The individual screensaver settings not being editable is the probable reason for them not being enabled shown in the MATE interface, but that doesn't really matter for most of them.
The files to edit are hidden away in /usr/share/applications/screensavers/
Once there, the desktop files can have a 1 line change to enable them by replacing OnlyShowIn=GNOME; with OnlyShowIn=GNOME;MATE;. Since there are hundreds of files, automation.
cd /usr/share/applications/screensavers/ find . -name '*.desktop' | xargs sed -i 's/OnlyShowIn=GNOME;/OnlyShowIn=GNOME;MATE;/'
